Query : Measuring FISCO Device Characteristic

Hi,

I wanted to measure the FF parameters

1) Residual Inductance and
2) Residual capacitance

for my FF device (to submit for FISCO compliance).

What is the method of measurement / calculation for these parameters.

FISCO is the Fieldbus Intrinsic Safe Concept, and as such the regular Intrinsic Safety method needs to be applied.
If you are developing FISCO instruments, you would be a manufacturer who has experience in developing intrinsically safe equipment. The same principles are applied for FISCO devices.
The methods to calculate inductance and capacitance, as well as how to design intrinsically safe equipment, are described in the EX standards. The relevant in this case are IEC/EN 60079-11 and -14.
Your EX expert will be able to advise you on how to follow the standards.
