I was told that I can use the transmitter as a controller as well with fieldbus. What I have is a kids display we are building and we are using a DPT as a means of measuring our level in our colum and what I am hopping to do is set up the tranmitter as the controller as well so I don't have to use an old pnumatic controller. I can find the PID block in the transmitter but am unable to put that block in service to use it. Iam using a rosemount 3051 is the any ideas out there on how to make this work?

Hello Travis,
You will need to configure connections between the transmitter's PID and an AO block for the PID to go into service.
If you have any sort of valve positioner to control the level, it should include an AO function block.
You will need to connect PID.OUT-> AO.CAS_IN and AO.BKCAL_OUT-> PID.BKCAL_IN, set the target mode of the PID to AUTO and the AO to CAS. Of course, use the tuning parameters in the PID to set up the control.
Hope this helps!

Did you manage to get it to work? SHED_OPT and BYPASS must also be configured to make it work.
