Hello all,
We are designing a system with multiple PLCs, that each are master on their own Foundation Fieldbus network. In most cases a process value is required by only one master, so the transmitter (Foundation Fieldbus slave) is connected to the according network. In a few cases however the process value (in this case pressure) is required by two masters simultaneously.
Our client decided that for these process values we will need two pressure transmitters, and connect each transmitter to it's own FF network.
I am not a wizard when it comes to Foundation Fieldbus, but I am not convinced that this is the best way to go.
Can anyone think of a better solution to relay one process value to mulitple masters? Is it for instance possible to make a multimaster network in Foundation Fieldbus, or does anyone know of a device that can "multiply" a Foundation Fieldbus value (much like a coupler that can be used to connect two Profibus DP networks)?
