IS Spur Guard Selection Mandatory for FNICO IIC Application ?

Spur Guards is the name for electronic short circuit protection / current limiting circuit. Short circuit and current limiting works in that way, that if a short circuit occurs, the Spur guard will limit the current flow to a certain maximum, for example 45mA or 60mA (depends on the actual product).
So typically, you would use a Spur guard to protect the remaining segment from failing due to a short at one of the spurs.
Note that this is the corrected post; in my previous post, I confused myself with SpurConnectors. My mind was not clear at that time ;-)
