Hi Ian and others,I am participating in writing a report on FF economics and costadvantages/disadvantages plus a survey of other EPC company's experiences(when available). I would like to ask the FUN group and yourself for inputand comments on this subject. We would like to know others' experience with comparisons withconventional 4-20 mA/HART systems from both the field device/wiring/marshalling/cabinet footprints/building size reductions/JB counts, etc. upto the host H1 I/F. We are splitting out thepre-commissioning/commissioning economics and efficiencies plus thelife-cycle aspects and categorizing these separately.Ian, I know you wrote a report/paper for InTech in 1999. Haveany of the economics changed since then? I know currently the devices wehave purchased for our project run about 100-200$C more per device than a4-20mA with HART. This adds up on a big project but I believe the trendwill be toward equal pricing over the next year or two.We are currently well into a major FF-based project (~1500 hard FFdevices) and are accumulating our own data as well. We have not finishedour analysis to date.Could anyone please inform me as soon as possible any references/articles etc. that I could use in this report plus any of their own field &engineering economics? Thanks in advance and,Best Regards,JimJ.E.
