The L_TYPE is set to "Indirect". Everythink seemed to be configured correctly. The Actual error being reported was sensor error or sensor failed.
We took a spare and put it on a test system with the same DCS configuration and and it worked fine so we swapped the spare transmitter with the one in the plant and it worked! The strange thing is that the one from the plant now works on the test system too. I wonder if somthing was hung up in the transducer block and cycling the power or decommissioning the device and recommissioning fixed it.
